Most of the berserker's spells concentrate on close combat and help deal with swarming groups of enemies. The berserker also has the ability to use throwing axes, making him useful at ranged combat. In gameplay he is similar to the warrior, preferring close range combat, though the berserker has a weaker defense so he can not take as much damage. Vah Shir BerserkerThe second of the two new classes, the berserker looks like a humanoid cat-like creature. The shaman has a good range of spells, from poison to healing to summoning, leading to a good variety in gameplay. Gameplay wise the shaman is a good mix of magic and melee they are able to equip full armor as well as being able to equip shields and most weapon types. Iksar ShamanOne of the two new classes, the shaman is a bipedal lizard-like creature in appearance. Each class also has appearance customization option. Also the original five classes have the option of choosing either a male or female character. Character ClassesChampions: RtA introduces two new character classes: the Iksar Shaman and the Vah Shir Berserker, this gives the game a total of 7 classes including the 5 from the original game. It is also possible to play from either a good or evil perspective, though this has little impact on gameplay aside from playing a different level in certain places. While the first games story was completely linear, in RtA it is possible to select levels and take on side missions and challenges for extra points. Mechanically this game is almost identical to the first one, with a few small differences, such as the map being moved to the side of the screen making it easier to play with the map on. You start in the presence of Firiona Vie, a character from the first game, as she tasks you with saving the universe from evil. Maybe things will change as we progress but so far it’s been fairly even and enjoyable.OverviewChampions: Return to Arms directly follows the events of the first game: "Innoruuk has been destroyed, but the influence of the Prince of Hate persists". Much to my delight I will add, I enjoy playing a support class. Not only is the cleric heal far superior to a potion heal but that potions are used so quickly and the shop purchase-able ones don’t do the job. I have read on various forums that it would be pointless trying to be a healer as potions do the same thing etc etc but we have not found that to be the case at all. Our barbarian player is probably the strongest but not by much (more down to his gear than the class) and we die so often I’ve specced into healing/resurrection as the cleric which I find most enjoyable. The first game was an absolute cakewalk on the first difficulty setting (it won’t let you pick higher) so we selected the second difficulty on our return to arms play through and at level 25 we think it’s about right in terms of difficulty (We are probably under- levelled for the difficulty). I have to be honest I was expecting what you describe but that hasn’t been or experience. We have just defeated the robot boss and got the cog. We are a party of 4 - Barbarian, Ranger, Cleric And Wizard. Header image controller icons by Deleket (DeviantArt) Remove the space between "/" and "spoiler" for your spoiler tag to be functional.
